Ultimo partido de competición europea este año, y que se debe de convertir en una fiesta del rugby.

Newcastle se juega la clasificación para cuartos de final como uno de los mejores segundos y supongo que pondrán todo de su parte para conseguirlo.

Los nuestros vienen de conseguir un gran resultado en Parma y parece que todos los jugadores están en buenas condiciones físicas, por lo que estoy seguro de que veremos un buen espectáculo.

Será una gran jornada de para todo el rugby vallisoletano, empezando el domingo a las 10:30 horas con un partido de la liga regional entre El Salvador B- Soria, después a las 12:30 el comentado partido de ECC, y para finalizar un interesante partido entre Vrac y Sant Boi.

El Cetransa El Salvador comienza su colaboración con Unicef, mediante el programa ‘Gotas para Níger’ • El torneo del sábado y el choque europeo, primeros eventos

El Cetransa El Salvador se convertirá desde este fin de semana en un club más solidario. La entidad chamiza ha llegado a un acuerdo con Unicef para colaborar con el programa ‘Gotas para Níger’ y este mismo fin de semana realizará los dos primeros actos para recaudar fondos para la causa, a través de la cuarta edición de su torneo de invierno y del encuentro de la Challenge Cup del domingo.
La iniciativa ‘Gotas para Níger’ tiene como fin suministrar agua potable y saneamiento al país africano. La presidenta de Unicef Castilla y León, Carmen Robledo, fue la encargada de presentarlo y de anunciar que en breve se harán públicos todos los acuerdos a los que se han llegado con el resto de clubes de la ciudad, en una iniciativa pionera a nivel nacional y que quieren que se extienda por el resto de las provincias (que todos los clubes de elite se vuelquen con este tipo de actividades).
Así, el Cetransa arrancará su acuerdo con Unicef con el torneo de invierno del sábado, donde 900 jugadores (desde jabatos y hasta infantiles) de 16 clubes se darán cita en Pepe Rojo. «La idea es que cada niño y persona que acuda al campo aporte 1 euro a la causa», relató Víctor Acebes, secretario técnico de El Salvador. El domingo, en los prolegómenos del encuentro ante el Newcastle Falcons, los jugadores del primer equipo entrenarán con camisetas de Unicef y el dinero recaudado del sorteo que se realiza habitualmente en cada partido de los chamizos irá directamente a ‘Gotas por Níger’.
Tanto Unicef como el Cetransa hablaron de honor y placer por colaborar juntos. A pesar de que el acuerdo tiene dos años, unos y otros prefieren hablar de una colaboración intemporal.

Santboiana, primer rival copero
El Cetransa conoció ayer al rival de los cuartos de final de la Copa del Rey de 2009 que, como en los últimos años, se jugará a partido único en cada eliminatoria. Los chamizos jugarán ante la Santboiana por un puesto en las semifinales. La cita será el 26 de abril en Pepe Rojo. De ganar, se medirían al vencedor del Les Abelles-CRC Madrid el 3 de mayo. Dependiendo del ganador, se jugaría en casa de uno u otro (la Federación Española indica que estas eliminatorias tendrán lugar en los campos de los clubes que disputaron los cuartos de final como visitantes; y en caso de que ambos sean locales o visitantes, se jugará en casa del citado en primer lugar -en este caso, Les Abelles). Falcons lock Tim Swinson insists his Newcastle side will be giving full respect to Spanish opponents Cetransa El Salvador on Sunday, when the teams meet in European Challenge Cup action.
Campo Pepe Rojo in Valladolid hosts the final Pool C match as Newcastle look to cement their quarter-final place, with Swinson insisting that the Falcons are treating this weekend's opponents with the same care as any other.

“It's important that we focus on our overall game, not just one aspect of it, and we need to treat El Salvador with respect,” said the 21-year-old.

“They're the champions of their country, it's their third or fourth season in Europe and they're improving every year. They've shown they can attack and cause problems for teams, so if we don't give them the appropriate level of respect then we'll end up with egg on our faces.

“They have an aggressive pack as they showed earlier this season at Kingston Park, and they're also a good counter-attacking team, which we're aware of. Keeping our shape will be very important on Sunday, because it's having that cohesion as a team which should hopefully see us go through.

“Every game matters, no matter what competition it's in. Obviously the Guinness Premiership is extremely important and we never lose sight of that, but this week we're playing El Salvador and our attention is totally geared towards the goals we have set for that game.”

Putting paid to any talk of taking their foot off the gas, Swinson said: “We want to go over there and win with a bonus point.

“I know there are various conspiracy theories being talked about in the press saying that a win without a bonus point is more beneficial in terms of getting a home semi-final potentially, but the way I look at it is that if you don't go out every game trying your absolute best, then you might as well not be there. There's certainly been no chat like that among the squad this week, and we're going out there firstly to win the game and secondly if we achieve that to rack up a good score.”

Going in to the game on the back of a 10-7 win over Gloucester and a 10-9 defeat to Brive from successive home outings, Swinson highlighted the progress currently being made and the continual drive to improve further.

“The Brive game went well in some areas, and whilst we were maybe a bit unlucky to get pipped at the post, we know there are things we can improve on to avoid that happening,” said the Newcastle University politics student.

“Our defence was very physical, at it had been the week before against Gloucester, which is something we're trying to build on going in to the El Salvador and Bristol games as well as the rest of the season.

“We're starting to link up better as a team in the past few weeks, the younger guys are getting more involved in mixing with the senior players and there's a really good atmosphere surrounding what we are doing at the moment.

“I'm learning every day from the senior players, especially in the line out where Mark Sorenson and Andy Perry have taken a lot of time to help me, mainly with some of the technical aspects which at a lower level wouldn't make much difference. Operating at Premiership and European standard though those little things are absolutely vital, and it can mean winning or losing a crucial line out.”

Viene a decir que piensan jugar contra El Salvador con el máximo respeto. Que somos campeones de España y llevamos ya 3 o4 temporadas en Europa y mejorando cada año. Habiendo demostrado que en ataque podemos hacer daño a cualquiera, on un paquete de delanteros agresivo.

Parece ser que se ha hablado de que les conviene no ganar con bonus, para tener el factor campo a favor en una hipotética semifinal, pero piensa que si no das lo mejor de ti, quizá no estarías ahí, van a salir a hacer un buen partido y a conseguir un gran resultado.
Ademá están trabajando mucho en defensa y pretenden que siga así de bien contra El sAlvador.

Falcons director of rugby Steve Bates has revealed he will field his strongest available team in Spain on Sunday, regardless of events elsewhere which could affect Newcastle's route to the European Challenge Cup quarter-finals.
The Falcons need Brive to defeat Italians Overmach Parma in France on Thursday night to pave the way for Newcastle to progress, with Bates stating: “The reality is that if Parma beat Brive then the competition is over for us, but that result won't affect our selection at all.

“The result of the Brive v Parma game is crucial in determining whether or not we can progress in this competition, so we'll obviously be keeping an eye out on Thursday night to see what happens, but we will go to Spain with a strong team regardless of whether or not we can progress in the competition.

“On current form you'd have to say that Brive are favourites, but Parma beat them earlier in the season so nothing is ever guaranteed. I would expect Brive to take it seriously, especially on the back of the reaction we saw from them on the final whistle here last weekend, which suggests this is a competition they are determined to progress in.”

With a number of selection and injury issues to factor in, he said: “Rory Clegg has trained this week after the groin problem that kept him out of the Brive match, so he goes in to the mix for selection, and Jon Golding is back from a neck injury so will also come in to consideration.

“With Carl Hayman away getting married in New Zealand we have a decision to make in the front row regarding moving Davey Wilson across to the tight head or not, and there are one or two guys carrying knocks like Mark Sorenson and Micky Young, who will be assessed tomorrow before we finalise the side.

“The other thing about this weekend for us is also to put some of the things in place that we want to use for the remainder of the Guinness Premiership season, especially with an important game down at Bristol in a few weeks' time. We've got to take it very seriously, play properly and put some pressure on ourselves to put in a big performance going in to that Premiership programme.”

With the mathematicians at work in calculating the various permutations surrounding the knock-out rounds, asked about conspiracy theories doing the rounds, Bates said: “One scenario that has been talked about in the press is the fact that a win in Spain without a bonus point might mean we get a home semi-final if we were to progress through the quarters.

“Statistically there might be a logic to that, but in a pure sporting sense that would be incredibly difficult to deliberately engineer, and is not something we have factored in at all to our preparations. If you're winning a game you don't suddenly turn round and say 'right lads, we're not going to score any more tries'. Firstly I just don't think it's possible to do, and secondly it's not exactly in the spirit of the game to even think about it.

“El Salvador are a better side than that, I thought they gave a good account of themselves at Kingston Park and they had improved a huge amount from the previous year we played them. I'd be very disappointed if we didn't control the game, but they are a much better side than I think most people give them credit for. If we underestimate them then we will come a cropper, so we will be taking a strong team to Valladolid and giving the game our full attention.”

With two match-less weekends after the clash in Spain, Bates will give his battle-weary troops ample time to re-energise ahead of a massive visit to Bristol on February 13.

“There are plusses and minuses about having three weeks between games after this weekend going in to the Bristol match.

“The boys have been going pretty much non-stop since the middle of August, so a brief respite from training and games next week will be good to get their minds away from rugby and to recharge the batteries a bit,” he said.

“We don't get back from Spain until late Monday night, we've given the boys four days off after that to go and relax, then we'll attack the next two weeks in training with a very specific programme aimed at the Bristol game on February 13.

“If we simply used the break as an opportunity to flog the players for three weeks solid in training then I would think it would have a detrimental effect, so we have a very focused approach in mind once the players return from their four days off next week.”

dos ensayos a favor

Bueno pues un más que digno 14-43, 29 puntos de diferencia, como contra el Parma pero con 2 ensayos transformados.

En líneas generales, un gran partido del Cetransa El Salvador, pero me sigo preguntando... jugando así ¿quién sería capaz de ganarnos en la liga?, sinceramente creo que ninguno.

Que grande es el chami, que partidazo sois los mejores ya saldareis cuentas en la liga que es lo que toca, que grande es el chami, que grande y con injusticias ensayo de Xito anulado expulsion injusta de Fabio.... en fin enhorabuena que hemos disfrutado de un partidazo, gracias.

un muy buen partido de el salvador. Sobre todo en los ultimos 25 min. Un poco guarretes estos ingleses, el expulsado en la primera parte nos ha dedicado un corte de mangas a los de mi grada que se podía haber metido el brazo por donde le cupiera. Luego no se que ha pasado con la gente y ese jugador, ha habido algo de barullo, y eso tampoco es plan...

Pues que tenemos una parte de la grada de vergüenza ajena ¿No se podría poner el rugby a la misma hora que el fútbol? Así, alguno no pisaba por Pepe Rojo, que ya vale de insultar, menospreciar, etc. Yo creí (así me lo enseñaron) que en el rugby había unos principios de respeto, educación, deportividad, etc., pero cada vez que voy a ver jugar al Chami veo que se va perdiendo...

No he podido ir al partido, alguien podria comentarlo? cuantos espectadores han ido?
